an ARC is an Advanced Reading Copy
*note the ADVANCED part*
for me, an ARC is sheer joy
i recently received an ARC of 'Karma Bites'
it's a Middle Grade book from Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas
and so far i've had so much fun reading it!!!
*yes.. i'm like a middle grader inside... deal with it!*
check out a sample chapter of the book HERE
now.. even though i have a to-be-read list
my most wanted ARC's are as follows:
1. Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
You must be tired of hearing me speak about Beautiful Creatures
well
deal with it
if you had read the book
you would understand
Beautiful Creatures is a paranormal/gothic/romance young adult novel and it even has some american history mixed in. I read it in January and have been hooked on the Caster world ever since. The best part? It was told from a guy's PoV! And, it wasn't even written by a guy, nope. The master minds behind the book are my fave YA authors Kami Garcia & Margie Stohl =) *love 'em!*
Now, Beautiful Darkness is gonna be out in OCTOBER. Imagine having to wait for 10 MONTHS to find out what happens next on Glee. That's what it feels like right now. Which is why I was eager to jump at the first chance to get one of those lovely ARC's.
Twilight Moms and Caster Girls are hosting an ARC contest!! *squee!* So click here for more info on how to win it!
2. Linger by Maggie Stiefvater
If you read the post about me getting Shiver and if you've read Shiver yourself, you must know where I'm coming from. Maggie is sheer genius and left me panting for more Sam&Grace even before I had finished Shiver!
Truth be told, I've entered every single contest on the blogosphere to try and get my hands on an ARC but, alas, no luck YET! Maggie herself is hosting an awesomesauce *thanks Elana for the word ;)* contest.
Easiest contest on the world really *click it to find out*... it's just spreading the trailer around. The trailer itself is a work of art, made by Maggie HERSELF. I have no idea where she finds the time, really.
Here's the trailer *which only makes me wanna read it MORE AND MORE! so. uh. i guess it's doing its job.*
Pretty nifty, huh? =)
*if you win it, you MUST let me read it :) Cool?*
3. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Ok, who has read the Mortal Instruments series? Show of hands, come on. Ok, good. Those of you who haven't read it can go out and BUY IT! NOW! What are you waiting for? Need the names? City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass. SCRAM!
Sheesh. Poor innocent readers. They're missing out on SO much fun!!! I read the whole series in a breeze in my last vacations only to regret it later. I miss Jace. Jace. Jace. Jace. I feel like repeating it over and over like Clary does =P!
Anywho, Clockwork Angel is the 1st in the prequel series to TMI, called The Infernal Devices. If you read TMI, 'nuf said. If not, what are you doing reading this and why aren't you out buying it or reading it?! GO!
4. Shadow Hills by Anastacia Hopcus
First time i found out about this book was through Mundie Moms. MM's is a fansite for TMI, made by MOMS! TMI is so frigging awesome it has a fansite for MOMS! Do you see why you need to read it?! Uh... back on the topic at hand, next time i heard about it was when the very talented Vania made the trailer for the book a few months back.
If you wanted more... Then check out the sample chapter
Pure YA goodness.
When it comes out *soon soon soon* you need to read it! Or, if you wanna snag an ARC before, check out this contest on Anastasia's blog
If you, like me, can't wait... The contest is the answer to all your problems ;) *with some luck...*.
That's it for today peeps... College is reeling me in. If you wanna know about the contests going on in the book-blogosphere, check out my contests page for current contests!
G'luck!
